VESAM sponsors spaghetti bridges academic competition
Six teams competed on the 2020 edition organized by the University of Coimbra
“And the winner is…”
A 920-gram spaghetti bridge that supported a weight of 40Kg was the winner of the 2022 edition of this academic initiative organized by the Core of Civil Engineering Students of the Academic Association of Coimbra.
This competition format, quite popular internationally in civil engineering academic circles, seeks to stimulate the interest of young future engineers in the field of bridges. The award criterion is the efficiency ratio that compares the relationship between the supported weight and the structure’s own weight.
As part of the protocol signed between VESAM and the University of Coimbra, the winners of this event receive the opportunity to undertake a professional internship at the company.
