Cantanhede Cycling shines in the Algarve double race
The Cantanhede Cycling team completed the double race in the Algarve with very positive results, demonstrating consistency and competitiveness in national women’s cycling.
1st Women’s Portugal Cup (Albufeira)
Three riders finished in the Top 10: Margarida Trovão (6th), Carolina Bernardo (8th), and Mariana Ribeiro (10th). Matilde Correia finished 18th, showing great resilience while still recovering from a wrist injury. Unfortunately, Mariana Mariano did not finish the race after a crash, and we wish her a speedy recovery.
2nd Women’s Portugal Cup (Portimão)
The team strengthened its presence at the front, achieving a podium finish through Carolina Bernardo (3rd). Mariana Ribeiro (4th) and Margarida Trovão (5th) also delivered strong performances, while Matilde Correia finished 19th.
With three riders in the Top 5, the team secured 5th place in the overall team classification, reinforcing the consistency of their results throughout this double race.
