Customized Monitoring System for the Structural Integrity of Metallic Structures
The health of structures is essential for the safety of buildings, people, and the activities carried out within them. This article presents a structural health monitoring system capable of providing continuous monitoring for metallic structures, adaptable to different types of structures and requirements.
The monitoring system offers various capabilities in terms of sensors and data analytics, with some of the tests and real-world applications presented here. In addition to enhancing safety and enabling efficient maintenance planning of structures, this type of system also makes it possible to assess the reuse of structural components, contributing to a circular economy.
